Would you like a unique, non-religious wedding ceremony written especially for you?
Just as every couple is different we know that every wedding needs to be different.
Humanist ceremonies are non-religious and each ceremony is unique. You don’t have to be a humanist yourself to have a humanist ceremony.
Our ceremonies can be held anywhere, at any time of day. Only your imagination sets the limits – the ceremony could be indoors or outdoors, it could be held on the moors, on a beach, in a park, in a hotel, village hall, marquee or castle……
Humanism aims to reach out to everyone and religious people often comment on how inspired they have been by a Humanist Ceremony, and how closely they could relate to all that took place.
Your ceremony should be the highlight of your wedding day. It should be exactly what you want it to be. That is why we work with you every step of the way to research and write a personal script for your ceremony.
Your ceremony will reflect the two of you, how you met, your shared interests and what brought you together.
The celebrant will meet with you to start to get to know you, to discuss your ideas and wishes. We have files with ideas and suggestions, (poems, readings, ways to make the ceremony memorable, etc.) Usually there would be a second meeting to discuss the ceremony in more detail; and our fee includes a rehearsal if you would like one.
We would then write a unique ceremony for you which we would e-mail to you for your comments and any ‘tweaks,’ you may wish to make.
At the present time humanist weddings do not have any legal force. Couples usually attend the Register Office for the legalities prior to the humanist ceremony. The legalities at the Register Office do not have to include the exchange of rings, and the required words can be kept to a minimum.
Our role is to help take the worry and stress out of organising your humanist wedding. We will help create a memorable ceremony which can be as traditional as you wish, or as zany as your imagination allows!
“Marion officiated at our wedding and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The ceremony Marion wrote for us felt traditional in spirit, but was utterly unique to us. She took the time to get to know us, and to listen to our ideas and beliefs. We will treasure our memories of the day!” L&S
“Andy and I would like to thank you so much, for all you did to make our ceremony so special. Everyone enjoyed it, and many people said they were touched by the readings and poignancy of the sentiments expressed. We both felt so comfortable with you David, and thank you for your professional attitude and personable approach.” A & Y
