I’m Joshua and I take photographs. I’ve been doing it a long time; ever since I was knee-high to a tripod and got my shutter finger on my father’s camera. I’m a bit taller now, 6’5”, which gives me a unique perspective on things.

I wouldn’t describe myself as a traditional wedding photographer. I don’t consult ‘The Handbook of Wedding Photography Clichés’ beforehand. I favour a more observational, documentary-style approach rather than the stiff formality of endless group shots. My eyes will be peeled for those unexpected moments that can make a day. My shots are unposed, candid, spontaneous. They are moments captured rather than created and will tell the story of your big day in a naturalistic way. You’ll hardly know I’m there as I move around like an f-stop ninja clicking away like my life depends upon it. But the focus will always be on you and your guests.

On the day I’ll arrive early. I may even have visited beforehand to get the lay of the land if time permitted. And I’ll stay as late as you need me to. I’ll be nervous; not as nervous as you two, obviously, but I know it’s your special day and I want you to be happy with the shots I take. It’s a big responsibility and one I take seriously. Even after shooting more than 150 weddings, I still get butterflies in my tummy until the first click of the shutter because I want to get things right.

At some point during the day I like to spend a bit of time with you both; away from the crowds, away from distractions, to give you some breathing space and to take the opportunity for some relaxed, informal shots.

I’ll photograph the details that will bring back memories every time you open up your album: the table settings, the flowers, the venue. That look as you exchange rings, that tear running down an aunt’s cheek, that point in the best man’s speech.

And when everyone’s gone home and you’ve departed for your honeymoon, I’ll get busy making your prints or album looking their very best so that on your return, you’ll be able to relive your beautiful day over and over again.

"I could not have asked for a better photographer to capture our big day. We had a rustic country wedding and Joshua captured this perfect, his style of photography fitted the theme perfectly.

From beginning to end he made us feel comfortable, to be honest half the time we didn't even know he was there. He stayed with our bridal party and fitted in wonderfully with our sense of humour and made us all feel at ease.

When we received our photos on the USB it was presented in a beautiful personalised wooden box along with a handful of printed photos, again very fitting with the theme and a wonderful surprise.

I would 100% recommend Joshua for a modern day wedding capturing real life moments not fake posed moments, however he did do a couple of these of request for the parents and grandparents. He's flexible, relaxed and incredible talented."

"We really enjoyed having Josh as our wedding photographer. He was very helpful & dealt with our requests without any issues. He was always available prior to the day & on the day blended in so as not to take the focus. He was very kind & considerate, never pushy, even allowing us time to ourselves which was very helpful & respectful of the day being ours. We really enjoyed having him around & think the wedding photos are amazing. We highly recommend Josh as a wedding photographer, he is excellent.”
